All four of you have previously met in front of the Spire in Cheliax, and seeing that you're all new, you grouped together to form a party, knowing that all of you are new to both the Spire and Cheliax, thus seeking to create an advantage with numbers. You've talked around for a bi, and this is now the second day after your meeting. You know what your previous characters generally knew about the Spire, albeit you know nothing about the gates. You're all at the same inn within the Spire's district.

Andross looks around with his sly green eyes at his compatriots and says, "You know, this is a nice thing we got going. But the only way it's gonna get better is if we join a guild."

"What kind of guild did you have in mind, Andross?"

He smirks, "The Care Bear Coalition."

I get really close to his face and look him straight in the eyes...."are you fucking serious?"

I back away, arms wide. "Would you like to suggest a different guild that we can join?"

"I would like to recommend a guild not for grade A pussies, but we have not gate knowledge. How about we tackle a gate and then perhaps a serious guild"

"And where would we get this gate knowledge?"

"We could buy a map or We could talk to some mercenaries for some tips or something."

"A map would be good. But, I don't think you can just ask people about the gates. I bet they know that knowledge is worth something and will give it for a price. You think we can handle a gate, the 4 of us?"

"Look at us, we will have whatever is in that gate on its knees begging for mercy"

"You'd hope, but I wouldn't be so sure of ourselves."

I put a hand on the shoulder of andross "have a bit of faith in yourself. We will slaughter those creatures."

"Do you have any idea what will be in that gate?"

"Not sure, but it could be anything"

"Yeah, maybe something that can't be killed."

"That's ridiculous, I highly doubt anything in that gate is indestructible"

"I say we join the guild just to get our feet wet. Then we can move up to a better guild."

"I agree there is no telling what could be in behind those gates."

"I'll join the care bear coalition, but only if you beat me in an arm wrestling match"

"How about we join the guild, and you don't have to if you don't want to."
